Cake Base

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs room temperature
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup milk

Green Flavor Options (choose one)

  • 2 tbsp matcha powder for earthy tea flavor
  • 2 tsp pandan extract for floral sweetness

  • 1 cup pureed spinach or zucchini for a healthier version

Optional Frosting

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a cake pan.
  • Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
  • Mix in your chosen green ingredient (matcha, pandan, pistachio, or spinach).
  • Pour batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool completely before frosting.
  • For frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Frost cooled cake as desired.
