Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup pumpkin purée or grated apple
  • 0.5 cup milk room temperature

  • 0.5 tsp ground nutmeg

  • Prepare frosting: whip cream cheese or buttercream until fluffy.
  • Stack and fill: layer cakes with frosting in between for stability and taste.
  • Crumb coat: apply a thin layer of frosting to lock in crumbs, then chill the cake.
